family reunion
Here is the latest update for the reunion. The place we have chosen for the reunion is on Blue Mountain. It is past the campgrounds. You will see a big grassy field on the right. It is not an official campground, but a field... We will have our 5th wheeler parked there and also some others. I will post a sign telling you where to turn if I can. If you reach the lake on the mountain, you have gone too far. Friday night will be a pot luck. Each individual family needs to bring a dish that will feed them and another family. At least 12 servings, otherwise, we will not have enough food for everyone. The potluck will start at 7:00 pm on Friday July 20, for those who are there on Friday. Saturday morning there is a breakfast at the park by the library for those who want to eat there. At 10:00 am is the parade with all the festivities for the kiddos. We encourage you to go to the parade and be with the rest of the clan. Monticello will have things going on all day, but I have planned a road rally for the afternoon on Saturday. We will follow clues to different places and find out more about the history of Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen. Meet at the field at 1:00pm for the road rally, we will leave at 1:30. When we return from the rally, we will have some relay games for the kiddos, and just relax. Dinner will be barbequed pork sandwiches, chips, salads of every kind,(each family is to bring a LARGE salad of their choosing). For dessert we will have s'mores. There will be a nominal fee for the dinner for each family. All of the eating utensils will be provided. Each family will have to provide their own drinks. I have some campfire songs for the kiddos to sing that evening and the rest of us will just sit around and eat and talk. Sunday will be a day of relaxation as some of you will have to head back home. I will need a firm count for the dinner by 10th so that I can purchase everything. Please let your parents know (ie Roger, Boyd, etc.) before that date. Then they will call me and give me the number for their whole family. If you have any questions, please call me at (210) 601-9598. Aunt Pam
